At More Than a Number- Behind Bars, Inc. (MTN-BB), we believe successful reintegration begins with preparation. We equip justice-impacted individuals with the financial knowledge, personal development skills, and confidence needed to build stable, independent, and meaningful lives.

Foundational Leadership Program — An eight-week curriculum focused on personal growth, leadership, accountability, and preparation for reintegration.
To help individuals build the knowledge, skills, and financial foundation needed to move beyond incarceration and create lasting opportunities.
02 / Creative Expression & Development
We believe creativity can be a pathway to healing, self-discovery, personal growth, and economic opportunity. MTN-BB recognizes the talents and artistic abilities of justice-impacted individuals and seeks to create opportunities for those talents to be developed and shared.
Art From Inside — Recognizing and amplifying the creativity and perspectives of incarcerated individuals.
Future Vision: Transitional House of the Arts and the More Than a Number Documentary Series. These initiatives are in development and have not launched.
To help individuals discover the value of their creativity, recognize their potential, and turn their talents into meaningful opportunities.
03 / Civic Leadership & Engagement
At MTN-BB, we believe leadership and civic engagement should begin during incarceration, not only after release. We work to educate and empower justice-impacted individuals to understand the systems affecting their lives, develop leadership skills, and become informed participants in their communities.
Leadership Begins Inside.
We believe individuals do not have to wait until they return home to develop as leaders. Through civic education and leadership development, we seek to prepare individuals to advocate constructively, engage with their communities, and contribute to meaningful change.
To develop informed, confident leaders who understand the power of their voices and are prepared to create positive change during incarceration and beyond.
